Over the weekend, I manage to watch Michael Moore's multiple award winning documentary Bowling for Columbine.
The documentary uncovered America's obsession with guns and the high gun related crimes in the US. In the end it all boils down to racial conflicts within the whites and the blacks; from the days of slavery and KKK to the media portrayal of the average african american as the average bad guy.
Indeed it was a brilliant documentary. Im not going to reinvent the wheel and do another long winded review. Just checkout what others said about BfC here!
Perhaps Michael more should come down to Malaysia and do a similar research on the infamous Malaysian drivers or our never ending rape/incest cases. Hmmm... perhaps I should do that...
Bowling for KL anyone?
America camouflages its obsessive fear through firearms. Unfortunately, the media has much to do with this. For those interested to learn the twisted inner-workings of the American media, I recommend Noam Chomsky's Manufacturing Consent: A Propaganda Model. Perhaps someone should write a similar book with Malaysia in focus.

Glad you enjoyed Bowling, bro. Weird fact of the day: in the US, it's illegal to sell replica BB guns (like the ones used in Lost in Translation) while it's perfectly legal to sell civilians real guns. Look at their gun death rates.
In Japan where civilians are forbidden to buy guns, replicas (or airsoft as they're called) are freely available to the public, and guess what: their gun death rate is one of the lowest in the world.
Freaky.

I like the part in BfC that showed the irony of him being able to obtain a gun in a bank. That's Yanks for you. Brilliant stuff, BfC!
