Again, Technology Review publishes the esteemed TR100 list, where it keep track of 100 Top Young Innovators Who Will Change The World. The list is segmented into four disciplines; Computing, Biotech & Medicine, Internet, NanoTech etc.
Okay, I have approximately 7 years to think of something brilliant, bizzare and out of this world to be eligible to get myself in that list. Quick, think of something!
Perhaps TechnoLAHgist could come out with a similar list for Malaysia? :)
Hahaha. Thanks for the vote KaZ, I don't think technoLAHgy can do that in the current capacity. Actually, those Cradle folks might know better, since their CIP program attracted thousand plus ideas.
Malaysia should have some ARPA style r&d. Pure knowledge pursuit instead of pure profit pursuit.

KaZ: In unis we have something called IRPA grants.
The downside being, sometimes too much emphasis on the research,
and no one thinks of how to make it worthwhile, which in turn
distances the uni even more from the industry. Tough act.
